Look at his face.

He’s been told he can’t feel emotions, and yet there are a million and one thoughts racing through his mind, sending shooting pains through the empty cavity of his chest. 

He has to fight Roxas. Roxas. He hates himself for it, because, well, it’s Roxas, and he’s put his life, no, existence, on the line for him.  But Roxas wont come back, and it hurts Axel, even though he knows it shouldn’t. And it’s like Roxas is playing mind games with him because all of a sudden he remembers and something in Axel snaps, because he’s worried Roxas is just saying it to save his own skin. But then there’s another part of him that thinks ‘If you do remember, then why did you take so long to do so? Was I not that important? You left me… I left Saix, my best friend as a somebody, betrayed orders, risked my life, and you still didn’t remember.’

And then there’s this guilt. 

The fights initiated, and he really doesn’t want to hurt Roxas. But if he doesn’t beat him… if he doesn’t win, Roxas wont come back. 

His face betrays him in this instance. His pain betrays him.
